There've been a number of fixes to make the USB stuff a lot quieter, i.e. to
not log normal operating conditions that we didn't used to know were normal. I
don't remember the specifics, though, since these changes were made a while
ago. Is it easy for you to update to the latest development release to see if
the problem is still there?
