[BRLTTY] cursor up and down handling

hi all,

On FreeBSD brltty works fine. But i have the following problem:

session starts.
brltty -b ts (vario) the baum driver does not want to start
but that is not the problem at the moment).
	braille cursor up/down keys work.
rmgls# sh
	or:
rmgls# whatever_program_you_want (still sh!)

cursor keys don't act.

even, running brltty after sh or another program gives the same behaviour.

You all who know brltty on the fingers tip,
can you point me in a good direction to investigate?
i run by default tcsqh (csh is the same here).
