No driver-specific changes were made in revision 3005. That means that a poblem
of the nature you describe should either occur or not occur for both of us.
Since it occurs for you but not for me, perhaps there's something wrong in the
way you're building brltty.  I can think of one easy-to-make possibility:

Did you just "svn update" and then "make"? If so, that'll cause problems. This 
is especially so in the 3004->3005 revision change because a data structure has 
increased in size. It's important when upgrading to do a clean build each time. 
If you want to reuse the same directory structure then my recommendation is as
follows:

   cd /to/top/level/of/brltty/build/tree
   make distclean
   svn update
   ./autogen
   make
