afaik it is the same model.

I could ask for the protocol details (I have some contacts at optelec NL 
whom might be able to supply them as they did for the voyager a couple of 
years  ago).

Officially they porbably will deny they are supporting linux.
I'm really wondering what it looks like as compared to the baum 
pocketvario displays.
