Not sure - I always shut down my laptop completely before disconnecting the
braille display to avoid any risk of hardware problems that might result if
the USB cable is disconnected while the display is active. Are Baum displays
designed to survive that kind of disconnection/reconnection cycle?

Regrettably not. Is anyone else here using BRLTTY under x86_64, preferably
with Debian Sid so that the environments match?
