[BRLTTY] getting the sounds from Brllty to come through my normal speaker instead of my Pc speaker

I am trying to get my Brltty sounds through my regular  speakers rather
than through the Pc speaker.  I am using Ubuntu and it of course uses
Pulseaudio and Alsa.  How do I tell Brltty to play the musical tones
through the regular speakers?  Mor in depth, what device must I use?  I
tried mixer1 with no joy.
