Does it have a built in battery, or is it powered from the device driving it (computer through USB or pacmate)? As far as the pacmate as a notetaker, its size is against it in my mind, the notetaker is for basic tasks where something can always be to hand, rather than heavy document processing and other heavy work. If the size hadn't been an issue, the pacmate might have been the solution I need. May be I should take the step of getting the syncbraille and voice sense and help get the brltty support, as that seems the only one that fits fully (including the size).

Am I just hard to satisfy? Should I lower the expectations of what
hardware I can get?
