Hi,
I did what you said, and it happens the same thing with me:
speech-dispatcher crashes and I have to restart it and the speech driver.

Best regards

Subject: [BRLTTY] Speech-dispatcher crashes when encounteringsemi-graphical
characters

Hi all,
the subject seems odd, but it concerns to brltty:
I installed revision 3642 from SVN, in order to use brltty with the latest
speech-dispatcher (06.6).
I was happy to realize that I now can read German text, since brltty now
speaks umlauts over SD; this did not happen in
older versions.
But one disappointment followed: When I come across semi-graphical
characters on some homepages, the pipe to SD breaks,
and I have to restart SD and brltty as well to get speech back.
To check this out, open the brltty homepage with w3m or links2 with
activated braille terminal support. As soon as the
cursor lands on such a semi-graphical character - or a whole row of them -
speech is silent.
Can anyone confirm this? Maybe it's only a problem of non-English users.
Hermann
