[BRLTTY] brltty current displays garbage, and not brltty 3.9

Hi all,

since some weeks, brltty current, displays ??????????????
while brltty 3.9 built with the same drivers tsi sc and the same brailletable
works like a charm.

my concern is, what have changed since 3.9 which may explain this behaviour?

the machine:

smp bi xeon, ati radeon 9800, (two ports), running on FreeBSD current.
on Debian with the same config brltty current works fine.
