[BRLTTY] maximizing line width when using contracted braille?

Hi.

As a user of an 81 and 88 cell display I asked myself during reading
contracted braille how to maximize the amount of cells used on
my display. One way that I figured out is to reconfigure my console
to use something like 100x75 (in 800x600 mode). While this
is mostly what I want, it has two major drawbacks:
 * fbset and framebuffer consoles dont work reliably on all graphics cards.
I hit a situation where I can see things on my braille display, but
my monitor goes out of sync for some reason and sighted coworkers can
   no longer see anything.
 * Its kind of a pain if you are switching in and out of contracted braille
mode since a 100 character wide line is longer than the usually available
amount of cells, which results in needless side-scrolling.

I was wondering, could we make this possible inside brltty?
For a start, I was thinking: If the following line starts with a letter
(after skipping space) and not with punctuation, and it would fit (contracted)
on the end of the current line, add it there, and emit a slight beep when
scrolling downward so that you know you "skipped" a line.
Any thoughts?
