The original intent of --disable-learn-mode was to remove the large table of 
command names since learn mode was all it was used for at the time. Since it's 
now used for key tables as well, it's probably time to remove that option. 
Learn mode, like help mode, is useful anyway.

I think it's time again to raise an old topic, i.e. which of the --disable-... 
configure options can be retired. A lot of them were introduced in order to get 
the size of the binary way down to where it'd fit onto a boot floppy. This is 
no longer necessary so I don't think we need most of them anymore.

Your experience has shown that there are side-effects to using them that we 
don't always foresee, which, to me, is another indication that most of them 
should go. Is there any particular reason that you used so many of them beyond 
the ideal of having a binary which is as small as possible?

Maybe I should start a new thread for this topic, but I'll wait a bit first to 
see how many respond to this one.
