Though the subject line is a joke, I do think it's important to follow the 
rules where possible; otherwise we can get into a morass of rule writing. I 
remember someone once claiming a bunch of errors caused by their message 
quoting system, that involved all kind of non-words they didn't like the 
contraction of. I don't remember the details.

So, here's the rule regarding the contraction of S t period. Set your
