Thank you for the suggestion, Samuel, which worked. -curses isn't documented
in the manual page.

I tried it with an ISO image of GRML, but unfortunately it booted straight
into VGA mode - the curses interface showed a message to that effect. I'll
keep working on it.

Thank you also for the BRLTTY support under the guest OS, which could be very
useful.
