Ok, but isn't Android a Linux system?  If it is, it's odd that your
cross-compiler is named arm-eabi-gcc, not arm-eabi-linux-gnu-gcc.  If
it's not, we need to extend configure.ac to support that new platform,
i.e. how to build a shared library, etc. That is, basically what you
would put in an Android.mk file, so it's better to just put it in
configure.ac
