Yes, that's the best way. It's unfortunate that it doesn't work in text mode.

By the way: You may have noticed that the bluetooth-wizard application 
terminates before you get an opportunity to do something else. It's more 
convenient, if you have a few things to do, to launch it from the 
bluetooth-properties application - I think the selector is called New Device.
