[BRLTTY] Symbolic links seems not to work.

Hi!
I am not sure if i have done something wrong when building brltty with the --with-execute-root option.
When i have don the make install evrything works when typing /brltty-4.4/bin/brltty but when creating a symbolic link like this:
ln -s /brltty-4.4/bin/brltty /bin/brltty it wont start when restarting the system.
Is there anything here i've missunderstood?
I am running vinux 3.0.2 and actually have tried several steps to try to upgrade from brltty-4.1 to the latest with no success.
So i have tried to install the debian package with gdebi and dpkg (this includes both i386 and ia64 versions) this with no luck.
So if someone is willing 	to help me out with this problem i'd appreciate it.
