Your file is showing, again, that your braille device is under the control of 
the usbfs driver. If this is indeed how vmware handles USB devices then I'm not 
understanding what's going on because brltty won't take control of a USB device 
if that device is being controlled by the usbfs driver.

Which release of brltty are you using?
