I'm sorry. I did get the log file, but had forgotten about it. Now that I've 
looked at it, I'll let you know what it shows.

When brltty is probing your device, it's getting back the following two lines 
of text:

   > BPP
   DS89C430 LOADER VERSION 2.1  COPYRIGHT (C) 2002 DALLAS SEMICONDUCTOR

Do you have a device which might respond with this data? Is this text at all 
meaningful to you insofar as your equipment is concerned?
