Since then, brltty has undergone a major conversion from being polling-based to 
being event-based. I myself am not a Windows user, but, as near as I can tell, 
serial I/O on Windows is working. I'd have said the very same thing for the 
older release you were probably testing a year and a half ago, though.

Brltty's part of that is to implement BrlAPI. That part is working fine. The 
rest of it is up to the NVDA people.
