Okay, cool! It's already done. I was thinking of a similar feature that's 
currently available via a compile-time flag:

   ktb_translate.c:36: #define RETAIN_CHORD_KEY 0

It retains the Space key, passing it within PASSDOTS, rather than translating 
chords into commands.
