[BRLTTY] New HID USB standard for braille displays?

Does anyone on this list have further details of the following?

Are some existing devices expected to support it without hardware changes -
and, if so, which ones? Is BRLTTY expected to support it?

It isn't clear to me what is standardized, as the features of displays differ,
making it hard to create a common protocol.
