You need to tell brltty to use its es speech driver. You can do this on the
command line via the -s option, or in /etc/brltty.conf via its speech-driver
directive. So:

   On the command line: -s es
   In /etc/brltty.conf: speech-driver es

The eSpeak package is rather old, though, and is no longer being supported.
While it does work, you probably should be using the (newer) eSpeak-NG package
instead. To use it, install the brltty-espeak-ng pacakge and use brltty's en
speech driver.
