What I am sure is that when I upgraded my Debian Testing, BRLTTY 5.6 was replaced by 6.0 and it does not start correctly anymore.
But as you mentioned earlier, my brltty.conf file was incorrect.

I will try to downgrade and let you know if I can reproduce.
