Personally, when I used Linux as my main system I used it with Xorg
running Mate or Gnome with Orca and BRLTTY and didn't have a lot of issues.
I mostly used the Terminal that is built in Mate or Gnome and it worked
really well.
Last time I used Linux I used Terminal with Tmucs.
It supports keyboard commands and you can find examples of how to
configure that in Arch Wiki.
I had settings that allowed keys like home, end to work and used
shift+arrow keys for text selection.
Also tmucs supported adding information to it's clipboard and there was
a possibility to add it to a system clipboard so you could copy terminal
input and output when needed.
Could you please try using Xorg with Orca and Tmucs and tell us about
your experience?
It would be interesting to know!
Also, do I understand correctly that you use mainly a Linux Console
together with BRLTTY and Espeakup as a screenreader or Emacspeak and
don't really use the graphical environment?
That would be also interesting for me to know to learn what instruments
are used by heavy Linux Console users daily.
Thank you!
