[BRLTTY] Questions about Orbit Slate series displays

I don't have one at the moment to measure but it is about 3/4 to an inch separation. The noises is the same all though a tiny les than the originals. The refresh time is the same as a 20 that is less than a second to refresh all the cells. They refresh in the 20 cell increment. So for example the left 20 and right 20 refresh at the same time on all three lines which make it just as fast as a 20 cell but they do refresh from left to right like the Orbit 20. They have low tactile lines you can follow from one line to the other so the separation is not as bad as you might think.

Subject: [BRLTTY] Questions about Orbit Slate series displays

Hi,

I'm looking for a multi-line braille display which has minimal refresh time, has many buttons (including braille keyboard) and can be touched during a refresh without disturbing it?

I guess Orbit Slate 340 display might be my only candiate, but I have a few questions about it:

1) I saw an Orbit Reader 20 briefly, and it makes quite a lot of noise during a refresh. Do the Slate series displays make equivalent amount of noise during an update?

2) Are the Slate series displays able to (more or less) immediately update all braille cells, just like displays mostly in use by BRLTTY users (I guess)? Is there any noticeable delay in refreshing the display?

3) How much is the distance between the braille lines?

4) How does cursor routing work in BRLTTY with Orbit Slate? If I understood correctly, it only has one row of routing keys per display – not for each braille line.

5) How is the battery life?

6) Does it support Bluetooth LE (low energy)? How reliable is the bluetooth connection (including with multiple connections)?

7) Anything else worth knowing about the display before getting one?

Thanks in advance!
