If you find out what the key combination is then please let us know and I'll add a comment to the EL40C key table so that it'll hopefully be easier to rediscover in the future should that need arise.

Do you know how to build brltty for yourself? If so, and if you can't figure out how to return your EL40C to "emulating" itself, I can then send you a patch. Or, maybe, we can add a Model= driver parameter.
