The thing is that text input injection is a clear security concern, so
you'd expect some resistance to allowing it back in.
If you really read the thread (tty: Allow TIOCSTI to be disabled) you
won't actually see reluctance. Just a rehash of why brltty is doing
it this way and not another. That's only to be expected, to avoid XY
problem issues.
