We need specific details. Phrases such as "and so on" don't give us anything to work with.

We need to see a debug log. Plaese use the -L (uppercase) option to specify the file where the log should be written, and the -l (lowercase) option to specify what to log. For what to log, specify: debug,brldrv,brlkeys,inpkts,outpkts

So, invoke brltty like this:

   brltty -L/path/to/logfile -ldebug,brldrv,brlkeys,inpkts,outpkts

For the test, pick a very specific sequence of different keys. The first two should be ones that work, and the last two should also be ones that work. In between, press keys that don't work. Let us know exactly what the full sequence of keys is as that'll help us interpret the log.
