Hello Dave,
regarding your 6.9 release deadline I want to mention two small issues with clipboard sharing between Brltty and X11 and
have an additional feature request. I use Brltty on tty1 and mate desktop on Debian with xbrlapi.
1. Scenario: I select text with Brltty and then switch into X11 to paste it via ctrl+v. If it's just text it works fine
but if it ends on some non-letter chars then Brltty appends a space to the copied text. This is reproducible and i.e.
happens for trailing / and ", among others. Could you trim this appended space please?
2. If I select and copy small text snippets on X then the clipboard sharing works - I can paste it with Brltty's paste buffer
binding. But there seems to exist a rather small max. buffer size. If that is exceeded then copying fails silently and
Brltty still keeps the previous text in its clipboard. Would it be possible to increase the buffer size so that Brltty's
clipboard buffer works better with xclip?
3. Could you add a keyboard binding to speak Brltty's current paste buffer contents?
Possible binding: Tab + ctrl + 7 (still undefined at the moment).
I use the latest Brltty from git under Debian Trixie but 1. and 2. exist for some Brltty versions (at least since 6.5).
Thank you.
Cheers
Eric
