NP beat me to it and, in a way, your consistency concern has been resolved (though not intentionally).

The COPY_SMART command has been removed. There are two new commands - COPY_SMART_NEW and COPY_SMART_ADD. They're bound to a long press of CLIP_NEW and CLIP_ADD respectively.
