I wrote that far too quickly and got it wrong. For the laptop table, kpSay is Capslock + Shift, and, as you already know, kpAlt is Control and kpThree is the period. All the ASPK_* commands are bound to kpSay+kpAlt. So: ASPK_IS_CHARS is Capslock + Shift + Control + Period.
There's an additional update, by the way, to ensure that all punctuation is spoken when spelling. Also another one which slows down speech navigation autorepeat so that you can actually hear what's going on.
