The document would need to be commited alongside anyway :)

I didn't see anything about scrolling back? Do we expect kmscon to just
expose what is shown on the screen? I guess it should be explicitly
stated.

Does the "protect" attribute mean that the character is not actually
shown? (like a password) Probably this should be explicited.
