It's what is done in XenServer's installer, see
See line 167 of the init file in the xenserver/host-installer GitHub
repository, and apologies for not being able to produce a direct URL.
Maybe this is because this installer does not use the very last released
version of newt, although it did not seem clear whether there has
actually been a *released* verison more recent than the one used by
XenServer's installer.

Yeah it makes sense. I don't knowthen why they insist to turn UTF-8
off.
