Hi,

this may probably sound unrealistic, but its just a question some friend
(not yet using Gnu/Linux) asked me:
he said, monitors/videocards are supported and recognized by the kernel,
what about brailel displays? aren't there any kernel-based solution
where no blind have to compile/install brltty to have braille support
under Linux?
This means theoretically that a braille display shoudl be recognized as
the kernel recognizes a monitor, but in my opinion it doesn't resolve
the problem of choosing a brailel table: but is this in theory possibl?
is it possible to let a kernel automatically recognize and load the
correct drive for a device who isn't a monitor but a braille display?
If the answer is "yes", then in theory a kernel fully implementing this
automatic hardware support should may be realized and published if the
standard kernel doesn't offer such a support?

Aldo.
