Does this mean that v is dot 6 and b is dot 5? That seems counter-intuitive to
me. Shouldn't v be dot 5 and b be dot 6 since b is to the right of v?

The same here for b and n. They seem backward to what one would expect, i.e.
I'd think that n should be dot 2 and b should be dot 3.
