This seems reasonable. For contracted braille, it would also be desirable to
be able to invoke liblouis (http://www.jjb-software.com/) instead of relying
on the earlier version of the same code which is now in BRLTTY. To generalize
this further, a BRLTTY API for external braille translation libraries might be
desirable.
