[BRLTTY] Trying to start brltty on ubuntu with usbserial device

Hi all.
I decided to try experimenting with using the ubuntu live cd (edgy  
powerpc version) on my mac. After booting, I wanted to use brltty
from the command line. Since I have a prolific usb-to-serial cable,  
and on debian at least the device for that is /dev/ttyUSB0, I decided  
to try this with the ubuntu cd. I did get a response but it consisted  
of a row of question marks across the display. I was able then to  
kill brltty and got "brltty terminated" on the braillelite display. I  
think the brltty version being used is 3.7.2. I'd like to get brltty  
to run so I can troubleshoot a sound problem and try running orca.  
Any suggestions?
