It usually isn't hard to set up, and you shouldn't need help at your end. I
don't know much about the Braille Note, but it appears to support a serial
interface. This means you will need a serial cable to connect it to the
computer.

Yes, of course.

Yes to both. To work with it you'll need Orca, a screen reader for GUI
software.

However, you could also try Alpine, Mutt and other e-mail applications that
don't use a GUI, and which are more flexible.
