Serial is the default (for backward compatibility), so "-d ttyUSB0" will work. 
The official way, however, is to prepend "serial:" to the device name, e.g.
"-d serial:ttyUSB0".

Strictly speaking, even "-b" isn't necessary in your case since the BrailleNote 
can be autodetected. Serial autodetection can be slow, though, so specifying 
"-b bn" will definitely speed things up.
