It's the real input packet. It's just being modified to look like a different
kind of packet. The type isn't modified (perhaps it ought to be) because it's
been already inspected and the goto is to the right place. I'm sure some purest
computing science professor would cringe at the way the code is written, but
it's quite clean, straight forward, and efficient.
