[BRLTTY] BrailleConnect 40 with BRLTTY 3.7.2?

Hi all
I'm a long-time BRLTTY user (since around version 2.0) but new to the
list. I've what might be considered a rather odd question. Will the
BrailleConnect 40 work with BRLTTY 3.7.2? Yes, I know it's old :). It's
not listed as supported, however I believe this display is essentially a
rebranded Baum pocket Vario or VarioConnect (haven't been able to find
out for certain which). Will this display work over a USB connection
with 3.7.2? I'm trying to get my Red Hat certifications and there's a
possibility they might be testing with RHEL 5, and that's the version
I'll be stuck using if they are. I'd update if that decision were mine,
but they refuse to allow that on their workstations they use for testing.
Even if 3.7.2 won't natively communicate, this display can emulate
either Handytech or PowerBraille, but the rub there is that I can't seem
to find out which USB to serial chip is in it. Some Baum displays have
an FTDI chip in them which works fine with Linux, and some have their
own chip that doesn't work without BRLTTY to drive it. Has anyone tried
this combination and does it work?

Thanks
