[BRLTTY] Building a static linked version of BRLTTY

Hello,

when I'm using my Laptop with Standby via
# acpitool -s
then it happens from time to time that BRLTTY hangs and the keyboard
is freezed. It could be another process as well, but I want to give it
a try. I was told that one can debug BRLTTY better, if it's statically
linked. How can I accomplish that? And just out of curiosity: What
does that mean in a technical sense?
