[BRLTTY] Midi sounds

I have the nicest chimes going on my Mac with alert sounds set to midi. I 
don't think I had to do anything; they are just there. Is there a wan I 
can set midi instruments up on my linux machines? I am not running gnome 
or kde
at the moment so don't give me those instructions unless that's the 
only way.
