To get the Bluetooth address of a device, do "hcitool scan". This will take
about a half a minute. The output has two columns. The first column is the
address of a visible device and the second column is it's current name.
Manufacturers usually set the initial Bluetooth name of a device to its product
name and model number so that it can be spotted easily.

The device needs to be visible in order for the scan to find it. Most devices
are, by default, invisible. What activating the "set bluetooth pairable" menu
item on the BC640 does is make it temporarily visible (like maybe for a minute
or so). In other wrods, activate that menu item just before pressing enter to
initiate the scan.
