[BRLTTY] the xw driver does not display

Hello,
I have recently gotten brltty from subversion on arch linux under gnome3.  The first thing I tried, to see if things were working properly, was the xw driver:

$ ./apitest -n

$

No window however appears.  I see no error what-so-ever. 

Where does brltty stash it's error logs?
