Can you please check your system log (perhaps /var/log/messages) for USB errors 
which match up in time with when you press the keys?

That's one way. Another way is to use the keypad at the center of the front. 
The left/right keys scroll through the menu items, and the up/down keys scroll 
through the settings for the current item.
