more info -- I can pair the device, but when I try to connect the device
using bluez-test input connect I get the following:
Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/bin/bluez-test-input", line 42, in <module>
input.Connect()
File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/dbus/proxies.py", line 70, in

return self._proxy_method(*args, **keywords)
File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/dbus/proxies.py", line 145,

File "/usr/lib64/python2.7/site-packages/dbus/connection.py", line

message, timeout)
dbus.exceptions.DBusException: org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.UnknownMethod:
Method "Connect" with signature "" on interface "org.bluez.Input"
doesn't exist
If I could solve this, I am pretty sure it would work -- and I do have
that include file on my system since there are no separate devel
packages in gentoo.

Your life is like a penny. You're going to lose it. The question is:
How do
