Why would you have to run it in screen?

Also I can read brf files easily using brltty in terminal where trying to read brf files in Text Edit on the Mac gives me extra linefeed characters and such which make reading the brf files on the Mac not an optimal experience imo.

Also it's possible to run a compiling command and send the output to a file so that when it's done you can just open the file and see whether the command succeeded or had errors.

Also if your braille display is being recognized by voiceover you probably have to turn voiceover off when running brltty in terminal; as far as I know there isn't a way to make brltty and voiceover's braille to play nicely together, as in using voiceover on the rest of the Mac and brltty in terminal.
