Wherever you install screen-4.2.1, whether in /opt/local/bin or in /usr/bin, you need to check whether another version of screen is there because Macports, if you previously installed screen by the port install command, has it in /opt/local/bin, and Mac OS has its version of screen in /usr/bin. If you are installing from screen anyway, you can change where it is installed if you want to do so.
