Hi Mario,

Two quick responses.

1. Regarding the PC speaker. Did you make sure that the corresponding
controls are not in the "mute" state?
Sometimes one can loose time trying to adjust the volume and not hearing
anything although the volume is maximal because of that.

2. Are you sure you can't make PulseAudio start as root during system
startup?
